Continuing Education
Introduction¡@¡@The Continuing Education office is responsible for administrative support for the regular evening degree and non-degree programs. It also coordinates and supports training courses offered through cooperative programs. Degree Program¡@¡@A degree evening program may be offered by a department depending on the the availability of teaching staff and needs of students. It typically requires an extra year of study to complete than a day program. While the day faculty is responsible for the teaching, the Continuing Education office is responsible for administrative support. It has its own Academic Affairs, Students' Affairs and General Affairs offices. About 800 students are enrolled in 6 departments at the present time and the number has been growing. Non-degree Program¡@¡@The goal of the non-degree program is to serve the continuing education needs of the local community by providing courses more practical and diverse in nature. Courses can be grouped into five categories: foreign languages, computer skills, business management, engineering technology and life science. The enrollment varies every semester. It has had over 2,500 participants. Current enrollment is about 200. ¡@ E-mail: acd@niu.edu.tw
