Introduction
The teaching objectives of the Applied Animal Science Department is to provide Students with the knowledge and hands-on experience in taking care of livestock, laboratory animals and wildlife animals. Theories and applications are both emphasized and students are kept up-to-date on the latest development in biotechnology and other related areas.
Our core courses provide a solid background in anatomy, physiology, nutrition, health, animal breeding, ecology, animal behavior, and business operations. Students can also choose a concentration on livestock management, wildlife management, laboratory animal management, small animal care or animal products. The department also offers a wide range of elective courses.
Graduates are prepared to go into their chosen field as valuable employees or to enter graduate schools for advanced study.
